Felipe Vaz is a brazilian sound artist, researcher and new media producer living in Berlin. His works are mostly based on temporal processes and conceptual issues related to sound and music, and have been presented in galleries and shows such as Casa Encendida (Madrid), Bienal da Caixa de Novos Artistas (multiple cities in Brazil), Mixtur and Arts Santa Mònica (Barcelona), La Maudite (Paris), Re:Flux (New Brunswick), Verbo/Galeria Vermelho (São Paulo), Caixa Cultural (Rio de Janeiro), Fonoteca Nacional (Ciudad de México) and several radio shows. He holds a postgraduate degree in Sound Art from the University of Barcelona and is now finishing a Sound Studies master at UdK Berlin.
Until recently he also worked as an UX designer. Overmundo, a community-driven culture website and repository whose collaboration system, interaction, and interface were designed by him, has been awarded the Golden Nica in the Digital Communities category in Ars Electronica 2007.
In 2008, he finished a master's degree dissertation about sound art named Elementos da Arte Sonora, which can be downloaded for free (in portuguese only).
